Mom's Café in Justin, Texas was built in 1986 with a "Home style, made- from- scratch" menu.
Its' original owner, Ruby Jean, named the café "Rocking J" after her father-in-law's cattle brand.
That brand still remains on the doorpost as you enter the café. Ruby Jean owned the café for 14 years before selling it and the name was changed to Mom's Café. The current owners, Steven and Janis Thompson have maintained that "Home style" flavor and atmosphere that diners have come to expect.
Since the café was built, some of the menu has remained constant. You still can have Chicken Fried
Steak, Meatloaf, Fish, Hamburgers, and Homemade Pies. Each of these entrees require a "special recipe" as found in the unique flour and fish meal, and meatloaf just like grandma's. Homemade pies complete the meal giving the dining experienced as one sitting in Mom's kitchen! Too full to move!
We are a family café with a family caring atmosphere in a nonsmoking environment. We desire your dining experience to be one that is enjoyable to our staff and customers alike!
